Venue Design  Pearl River Resort

Situation

Pearl River Resort had an under-utilized second casino, and at the same time they were in need of additional multi-use entertainment space.

Objective

Find a cost-effective way to transform the 85,000 sq. ft. casino floor into a state-of-the-art entertainment venue.

Tactics

After moving out a third of the casino games we performed sound tests to find the best acoustic location for the stage. We then worked closely with the resorts architect to maximize the space and minimize the cost. The fixtures and décor were demoed, saving what we could. The build-out was done in less than 45 days.

Results

THE ARENA at Golden Moon was completed in time for our New Year’s Eve opening event with Cannibal & The Headhunters and Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels. The 56’ wide by 48’ deep full-size stage has 35’ in height that can handle the biggest of shows. After hosting such acts as Martina McBride, Huey Lewis & The News, Alan Jackson, Diana Ross, Jeff Foxworthy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, B.B. King, Sugarland, Hank Williams Jr. and Chicago, THE ARENA was chosen as the “Best Entertainment – 2011 Best of Southern Gaming Awards”.
